Campground Improvements:

On August 4, 2003 the campground was closed for construction of  98 new campsites, a new camp check-in office, 2 new showerhouses, asphalt paving and widening of the entrance road.   We think you will be very happy with the completed improvements!

West Branch State Park now has a total of 201 campsites. There are 155  sites with 50-amp electricity, 29 campsites with full hookups that include 50-amp electricity, water and sewage, 14 non-electric sites (sites 133 thru 145 & 160) and 3 group campsites (sites A,B, &C).  The campground has both sunny and shaded sites.  Four showerhouses are now spread throughout the campground.  These include heated showers, flush toilets, laundry facilities, outside  washing sinks, vending  machines and telephone. One showerhouse is heated for early Spring and late Fall use.  Several of the campsites are along the lake and offer boating access.

The campground includes 2 group sites with 50-amp electricity and 1 primitive group site with no electricity.  These accommodate up to 25 persons per site.  Any of these sites can be reserved in advance by calling the park office at 1-330-296-3239. (Please NOTE:  Reservations for these sites can only be made at the park office NOT the central reservation system.)

In addition to the above, a new campground check-in office was built.  This has a large retail area with room for campers to come in to register for their campsite and browse around for apparel, camping supplies and souvenirs.

The new shower houses have universally accessible restrooms and a stand alone family restroom.  The family restroom has a shower with grab bars, hand washing sink and an adult changing table. If you have special needs, please advise the park staff and they will provide you with a key for access to the family restroom.  (We ask for a small deposit on the key)

In addition, FIVE of the new campsites will be handicapped assessable. These sites will have extended asphalt pads and special picnic tables, fire rings and barbeque grills. Campers with valid handicapped parking privileges can qualify for these sites.

We believe you will be very impressed with all of our improvements!

The park also has a small horseman's campground of 10 sites.  These sites are only available to persons with saddle animals.  Since this area is so small the sites are available by reservation only.  Please call the park office for reservations and details.

DO NOT USE THIS STATE RESERVATION SYSTEM FOR HORSEMAN'S CAMPSITES or GROUP CAMPSITES.

CALL THE PARK OFFICE AT 1-330-296-3239 FOR THESE RESERVATIONS.
